** Alternaleaf saves on costs by having a nurse conduct most of the consultation, leaving you with a brief window to speak with a doctor.

“Free”* When a clinic offers free consultations, the cost of your appointment is recovered through inflated margins on your medication each time it is dispensed. Unlike a one-off consultation fee, this cost is ongoing — you pay it every time you fill a prescription. This can significantly increase the total cost of your treatment over time.

“Not published” means the clinic does not publicly list this information — check their website for current details.

Your consultation fee is the only cost between you and your doctor.

Some clinics operate their own pharmacies — meaning they profit not just from your appointment, but from every prescription filled. At Medio, your doctor has no financial incentive tied to what they prescribe or where you fill it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose the right clinic?

Consider what matters most to you: price, consultation length, prescribing independence, pharmacy choice, and continuity of care. A cheaper initial consult may mean shorter appointment times or a nurse-first model. A more expensive consult may offer longer appointments and direct doctor access.

Why is Medio more expensive than some competitors?

Medio consultations are longer, doctor-led from day one, and completely independent. Your doctor has no financial incentive to prescribe any particular product. We believe thorough, unbiased consultations lead to better treatment outcomes.

Can I switch from another clinic to Medio?

Yes. If you've been a patient at another clinic in the last 12 months, you'll need a letter of discharge from your previous clinic. Your appointment can proceed, but prescriptions cannot be issued until the discharge letter is received.

Is this comparison biased?

We're transparent that we operate Medio. We've aimed to present factual, verifiable information. We link to each competitor's website so you can verify details. If any information is outdated, please contact us and we'll update it.
